I am not a person for making New Year's resolutions since I rarely keep them.  In fact, I seldom meet a person who does.  But one important thing that I do each year is to determine in my heart to love the Lord more than I did the previous year, and to learn more about Him from the faithful study of His Word, the Bible.  It's my guideline for everything I do.  In fact, it has become my lifeline as I grab my cup of coffee each morning and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal fresh nuggets of truth from its pages.  And as I read, I try to listen to His still small voice that speaks to my heart.
Our nation, and even our world, is in turmoil from the current state of the economy, social issues, wars and uprisings around the globe.  I personally would not want to live in today's world - even with all the development of modern technology - if I did not have Jesus living in my heart.  He's the only true peace that I have ever known.
I don't know what 2012 will bring, but I know the One who holds the future.  We can depend on His faithfulness.  I love this awesome picture, entitled "The Eye of God", taken from the Hubble space craft.  It depicts how mighty God really is!  And He does not change.  He keeps every promise He has given us through His Word.  He is the only true and living God!  I pray that you will each find the peace our Savior offers this year.
Happy New Year, and God bless you all!
